Tierra Resource Consultants, LLC (“Tierra”) provides energy, water, and carbon management consulting services to utilities, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and private sector clients across North America. Our senior staff have been at the leading edge of resource supply and demand side analysis and solution delivery for over three decades. Tierra has five main practice areas (PAs), including:
- Our Strategy PA works to achieve an organization’s goals by aligning regulatory, technological, operational, financial objectives with customer market needs. For utilities we’re working to integrate customer programs with fast-moving supply and demand side resource requirements.
- Our Research PA leverages our industry knowledge and data analytics to develop tools that define opportunities and forecast likely outcomes from various market interventions. For utilities we're increasingly focused on helping to achieve energy orchestration through a comprehensive data fabric.
- Our Delivery PA leverages our strategy work and market knowledge to design programs and market interventions that have recently earned our clients the 2019 SEPA Innovative Partnership award, the 2020 AESP Emerging Technology Program of the Year, and the 2020 PLMA Program Pacesetter Award. In March of 2022, Tierra received an award from the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for our work with Arizona Public Service to integrate distributed energy resources onto the grid.
- Our Evaluation PA focuses on defining continuous improvement opportunities based on quantitative and qualitative analysis. Our approach of integrating evaluation with portfolio design and operation effectively advances an organization’s business mission while addressing regulatory objectives.
- Our Sustainability PA provides technical support and consulting services on energy, carbon, and resource management issues. Much of Tierra’s sustainability efforts are focused on building advanced energy communities, targeting the nexus of economic growth, emissions reduction, and resource reliability and resiliency.
