Aestus Inc. is developing advanced Thermomagnetic Generators to capture and transform waste heat energy into useful electric power. These devices use thermal energy to vary the properties of specialized magnetic alloys.
Channeling waste heat to these magnetic materials allows them to undergo a magnetic phase changes which produces rotary motion in a turbine. Effectively, heat is used to cycle our proprietary materials between magnetic and non-magnetic states to turn a rotor. This idea is analogous to other “heat-engines” such as steam turbines and internal combustion engines which translate thermal energy into mechanical power.
Our Thermomagnetic technology provides a completely new approach to generate power using waste heat that is normally released to atmosphere. Capturing waste heat can help to improve efficiency and offset the production of harmful carbon emissions.
