Organization Overview

Caltech's Rocket Fund https://rocketfund.caltech.edu/ is a grant program,  sponsored by a consortium of California's major utilities allied with Caltech,  the Moxie Foundation and the cleantech industry, that provides awards for cleantech and sustainability companies to build their first commercial prototype and begin demonstrating with customers. Its members include the Electric Power Research Institute and Itron and the program linked through channel relationships with the IN2 Wells Fargo and NREL Shell Game Changer programs.  Through the Rocket Fund's non-equity grants companies can test their technologies in a commercial setting and accumulate the data that validates their product for customers and for investors. Established in 2015 Rocket Fund companies have attracted over $80 million in additional funding from investors, customer sales and services and government grants.
