The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is inviting applications for the competitive Advanced Transportation Technologies and Infrastructure Investments for Novel Advancements (ATTAIN) Program. This program allocates up to $120 million (with $60 million for FY 2023 and an additional $60 million for FY 2024) for grants that support the deployment, installation, and operation of advanced transportation technologies. The overarching goal is to enhance safety, mobility, efficiency, and intermodal connectivity while optimizing infrastructure return on investment.
Through the ATTAIN Program, FHWA aims to incentivize innovative transportation solutions that address critical challenges. The program has allocated up to $2 million annually for FHWA administrative expenses, with the remaining funds available for project awards. For FY 2023, the amount available for award is up to $52,680,000 (prior to the administrative expenses set-aside), and the amount for FY 2024 will be determined upon the enactment of the FY 2024 annual appropriations act. The program encourages entities to submit innovative proposals that contribute to the advancement of transportation technologies and infrastructure, aligning with the program's objectives and the broader goals of enhancing the nation's transportation system.
