Dr. Corey McDaniel, Idaho National Laboratory’s Industry Engagement director & Chief Commercial Officer
Dr. Corey McDaniel leads the implementation of a lab wide commercial business development strategy as INL’s Industry Engagement director and chief commercial officer (CCO). He is part of INL’s Senior Leadership Team. He has 27 years of experience, both domestic and international, accelerating deployment of advanced nuclear energy systems through expanding markets with commercial reactor vendors. He has served as a manager, engineer, scientist, and policy adviser on nuclear energy issues including business development, manufacturing, project development, regulatory oversight, safety, marketing, global sales, and investment. Dr. McDaniel maintains high-level relationships with key government and commercial officials globally. He recently served as the CCO for INL’s Nuclear Science and Technology directorate. Before re-joining INL in 2019, Corey was CCO of Science and Technology for Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, as well as vice president of Business Development for Fluor Corporation. He oversaw CNL’s commercial businesses totaling more than $100 million annually.
Dr. Terry Brog, Center for Advanced Energy Studies Interim Director & Senior Technical Advisor
Dr. Terry Brog took over as interim director of CAES on Oct. 20, 2020.

Dr. Brog is the senior technical advisor to Juan Alvarez, Management & Operations deputy laboratory director at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Brog joined INL in April 2019 and has previously served as research chief operating officer (COO) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and interim laboratory director and COO at Princeton Plasma Physics Lab.
After spending most of his career in private industry, Brog joined PNNL in 2008 as the chief operations officer for the Energy and Environment Directorate. In 2016, he joined Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory as the chief operations officer. For approximately one year, he was the interim laboratory director and then returned to his previously held position.
