Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage science- and technology-based companies. The program’s objective-setting process enhances the performance of technical founders who learn from the insights of experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their probability of success.
The program combines five elements to help companies transition from science project to scalable and financeable companies:
- An emphasis on objective-setting, helping companies focus on what’s most important to their business
- Focused mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs who have founded, led, and sold significant tech companies
- Opportunities to raise capital, including angels and VCs from Europe and North America
- Technical advice from world-leading scientists, engineers and economists
- Hands-on support from top business students, who embed within the company to provide business development expertise
CDL Energy - For founders developing transformational technologies for the energy industry.
The Energy Stream at CDL-Rockies operates from the epicenter of the energy industry in Canada and brings together experienced entrepreneurs and investors, and leading scientists active in the energy sector. The Energy cohort focuses on emerging technologies in oil & gas, cleantech and power. CDL startups work with these mentors to sharpen objectives, prioritize time and resources, raise capital, and engage with experts working on the frontiers of research. - Software, sensors, robotics and IoT
- Energy infrastructure and pipelines
- Energy storage, renewable energy, energy efficiency and smart grids
- Batteries and fuel cells
- Water and wastewater treatment
