XCharge is a vertically integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider with a focus on fast and battery-integrated charging. We offer future-proof fast charging hardware solutions coupled with the software front and back-end to give our customers everything they need to generate profitable EV charging offerings out-of-the-box. Our offerings include charging as a service (CaaS), and equipment and technology sales and leasing. XCharge has more than seven years of experience in the EV infrastructure space, with more than 35,000 chargers installed globally and Europe’s second-largest EV supply equipment market share. Our core focus is Level-3 DC Fast Charging manufacturing, both with and without integrated energy storage systems.
XCharge started with the thesis that an electrified transportation sector at scale is only feasible through convenient, fast, and reliable charging infrastructure. While Level-1 and Level-2 charging have essential roles, we believe Level-3 charging is the key to unlocking EV adoption for large market segments including city dwellers and fleet owners—who often lack the time and space to charge. As a result, XCharge began to focus exclusively on Level-3 products in 2019, and since then we have deployed 7,000+ DC fast charging stations. We leverage 208v three-phase connections and modular battery components to deploy Level-3 fast chargers at sites where Level-2 solutions were previously considered the only option due to grid limitations, but where Level-3 may offer a better solution. Savings afforded by this approach allow us to deploy our chargers at one-tenth the cost of other chargers that require site upgrades for installation and in a fraction of the time. Most competitors do not have this option since their product lineups require 480v input and default to unnecessary, expensive site upgrades.
XCharge’s growing network has achieved exceptional reliability with uptime exceeding 99 percent globally over the last five years. This is possible through our vertically integrated business model, whereby we design and develop custom hardware and software to meet the unique needs of each charging site. This approach is not commonplace in the industry. Traditionally, companies focus on building hardware or software and rely on third-party integrations to link the two, which require significant time to configure. Such a piecemeal approach can lead to reliability issues during operations. Flexibility and innovation are at the core of our charging philosophy and vertically-integrated suite of charging solutions. Our guiding principle during any installation is to minimize local environmental and site impacts while maximizing the carbon reduction impacts of our network.
