Organization Overview

The Mobility House (TMH) is a 10-year old technology company with 120+ employees based across offices in Silicon Valley, Austin, Munich, Zurich, and Warsaw, serving customers in over 10 countries. These include leading automotive manufacturers, fleet operators, utilities, and electric vehicle drivers.

TMH's goal is to help create a zero-emission energy and mobility future. In order to do this, the company has built a technology platform, ChargePilot, that enables reliable and efficient charging of electric vehicle fleets and vehicle-grid integration using intelligent charging, energy management, and storage solutions. ChargePilot has been rolled out across Europe and North America with leading electric bus operators, delivery service fleets, and on corporate campuses.

TMH has multiple international landmark energy projects in operation, such as the sophisticated EV-battery based storage solutions in the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam and powering the island of Porto Santo in Portugal using its vehicle-grid integration technology. TMH is further accelerating the rollout of its solutions through its extensive partner network including OEMs like the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi Alliance (shareholders), Daimler (shareholder), Volvo Cars, VW, Honda, and energy companies like Mitsui, Amprion, Tennet, Terna, and others.

The Mobility House provides the following services and solutions for its partners and customers:

1.    Consulting Services: Electric Vehicle Fleet Charging and Infrastructure

2.    ChargePilot, the Charging and Energy Management System

3.    Charging Stations (EVSE)

ChargePilot, the Charging and Energy Management (CEM) system by The Mobility House, charges electric vehicle fleets intelligently, reliably, and cost-efficiently. With just one system, fleet managers can manage loads and keep track of the fleet’s energy consumption while charging. ChargePilot is modular and grows with your needs, providing the flexibility to design and plan for the growth. ChargePilot optimizes the use of available power and charging infrastructure.

ChargePilot processes different parameters such as total available power, building load, electricity rates, vehicle battery state-of-charge (SoC), and electric vehicle schedules, in almost real-time, to optimize when and how much to charge each vehicle. The goal is to smooth out expensive peak loads (“peak-shaving”) and take advantage of low-cost charging windows, which significantly reduces electricity (e-fueling) expenditures.

Vehicle to Grid (V2G)

The Mobility House team believes, Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) is a key aspect to a clean energy and transportation future. While the technology is ready, policies, standards, and business cases need to evolve to enable V2G to be deployed commercially at scale. TMH monitors V2G policy changes and new pilot programs, and actively helps shape V2G policy, e.g. by participating in the California VGI Working Group as directed by CPUC DRIVE Rulemaking (R.18-12-006).

In Europe, TMH has been a leader in deploying V2G projects. TMH has leveraged V2G technology to help make the Porto Santo the world's first CO2-free island, reduced the electricity load of the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam by allowing visitors to discharge their vehicles during events, worked with TenneT to utilize vehicles to stabilize energy supply and demand between two regions, and pre-qualified the first Nissan Leaf as a large power plant with the German Transmission System Operator.
